It puts the Channel Rack, step sequencer, patterns and mixer under 64 velocity-sensitive RGB pads, so beats, basslines and arrangements come together by hand instead of by mouse. At Soundium it sits alongside the FLkey 2 keyboards as the pad-first way into FL Studio.

Key Features

64 Velocity-Sensitive RGB Pads: Full-size pads with force-sensing technology and aftertouch in Custom Modes for expressive finger drumming.

Channel Rack on the Grid: See and control your FL Studio Channel Rack directly, with the pad colours matching your channels.

Step Sequencer: Program up to 4 instruments at once and switch between 4x, 2x and 1x views for fast or detailed editing.

Note View with Scales and Drum Layouts: Play chromatically or in scale, or switch to FPC, Slicex and Fruity Slicer layouts for drums and chopped samples.

Patterns, Mixer and Graph Edit: Build arrangements from patterns, balance levels with on-pad faders and shape notes in Graph Edit.

Custom Modes: Up to 4 user layouts via Novation Components turn FLpad into a MIDI controller for other software and hardware.

Customer Benefits

FLpad turns FL Studio into a hands-on groovebox. Instead of clicking steps into the Channel Rack, you tap them in, hear the pattern loop and keep moving: clone a loop, change the pattern length, mute channels or nudge the tempo with Shift functions, all without leaving the grid. Dedicated buttons for Patterns, Channel Rack, Mixer, Graph Edit, Undo, Play and Record cover the moves you make most, and the bundled FL Studio Producer Edition licence means you can start producing on day one.

Quick Specs

Pads: 64 RGB pads in an 8x8 grid, velocity-sensitive, aftertouch in Custom Modes

Buttons: 16 dedicated buttons (navigation, Sequencer, Note, Custom Modes, Shift, Patterns, Channel Rack, Channel Mixer, Graph Edit, Clear, Undo, Play, Record)

Views: Sequencer, Note, Patterns, Channel Rack, Channel Rack Mixer, Graph Edit, up to 4 Custom Modes

Connection: USB-C, USB bus-powered

Security: Kensington lock slot

Dimensions: 240 × 240 × 17.6 mm

Weight: 820 g

In the Box

Novation FLpad grid controller

USB-C to USB-A cable (1.5 m)

FL Studio Producer Edition (6-month licence)

Instruments and effects from UVI, Klevgrand and GForce, plus Melodics lessons

Use Cases / Ideal For

FL Studio producers, beatmakers and finger drummers who want to sequence, perform and arrange from a pad grid.

Compatibility

Deep integration with FL Studio 2026 (version 26.1.6 or later) on Windows and macOS; works as a MIDI controller with other DAWs through Custom Modes.

Pros & Cons

✅ Pros:

Purpose-built FL Studio workflow, no mapping required

Full-size, velocity-sensitive pads with aftertouch

Step sequencer handles up to 4 instruments at once

Slim, bus-powered and easy to carry

⚠️ Cons:

No 5-pin or TRS MIDI output and no standalone mode

No encoders or faders; mixing happens on the pads

Full integration requires FL Studio 2026 or later

If FL Studio is where your music lives, the Novation FLpad gives it a proper instrument: 64 pads that know your Channel Rack and a sequencer you can play.
