Asura is the first standalone synthesizer from Animal Factory Amplification, the Indian boutique pedal and Eurorack maker known for dark, aggressive sound. Built over five years together with Bangalore musician and instrument designer Sanjay Das (Philtersoup), it pairs a six-voice hybrid wavetable engine with the brand's signature analog fuzz and a dual-head granular delay. Asura keeps everything on the surface. There are 20 backlit knobs and a pressure-sensitive touch keyboard, and assigning modulation means tapping a source and turning the knob you want it to move. The fuzz and delay sit inside the instrument, so a patch can go from lush pads to full distortion without extra pedals. An 8-step polyphonic sequencer with parameter locks, an arpeggiator and a pressure-controlled randomizer turn short ideas into moving parts.
