The Marantz CINEMA 50 Series 2 is the flagship of the CINEMA home theater line, combining a new 32-bit, 8-channel DAC with nine channels of discrete amplification at 110 watts each and 11.4-channel processing. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Auro-3D and IMAX Enhanced meet the complete Dirac Live suite and the warm, spacious Marantz sound signature — available at Soundium.

What it actually does

Every channel is converted at the same moment rather than in sequence. That is what tightens placement when a lot of objects are moving at once in an Atmos bed.

110 W per channel into 8 ohms with 11.4-channel processing, so the receiver scales to a full height layout and still leaves preamp outputs for external power.

The only CINEMA in the range that decodes both, on top of Dolby Atmos with Channel Expander and DTS:X. A bi-amped centre mode is also exclusive to this model.

Room Correction, Bass Control across all four subwoofer outputs, and Active Room Treatment. Audyssey MultEQ XT32 with a calibration microphone is included in the box.

Web Control 2.0 puts the whole configuration in a browser. HDMI Diagnostics 2.0 reports which HDMI leg is failing instead of leaving you to swap cables.
