An external side-chain makes it easy to integrate external FX and processing into the compression signal chain, and the WA76-D includes a variable side-chain high-pass filter (30 to 300 Hz, 12 dB per octave) for refining the side-chain control. With selectable active or true bypass, you can run the unit as a line amplifier (active) or engage in easy A/B comparisons (true bypass). The WA76-D includes a real classic-style analog VU meter with adjustable settings (gain reduction, +8 or +4 dB output). You still get all the classic features you'd expect, including the all-buttons-in setting for experimental or hard-limiter tones. And with a universal internal power supply, the WA76-D will operate optimally in any electric environment.

Custom CineMag Transformers
Just like in the vintage 76-style compressors from revision A to D, the WA76-D uses custom large-core CineMag input and output transformers (O-12 and 5002). The transformers inside the WA76-D use the exact same spec data and materials used by Reichenbach Engineering in the original vintage designs, known for delivering rich analog tone to any signal chain.
Premium Components and Accurate Circuitry
WA76-D uses premium ceramic and electrolytic capacitors, metal-film resistors, and a revised preamp stage, improving the linear response of the FET. The audio signal path is 100% discrete analog with a 600-ohm input impedance attenuator and a class-A line-level output amplifier.
